Faculty of Human and Social Sciences Welcomes Its New Students, with “Mikael” Leading the Welcome

In an atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and warmth, the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences welcomed its new students on Saturday morning, September 26, 2026, as part of its Orientation Day activities, wishing them a successful academic beginning and a university journey filled with achievement and excellence.

The Orientation Day was held at the Ali Khalifa Al-Zaidi Scout Leader Hall and began with a welcoming address delivered by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. Dr. Mikael Al-Rifadi, who welcomed the students and introduced them to the Faculty’s vision and mission. This was followed by introductions to the directors of the academic programs, who also welcomed the new students.

The program featured a range of informative and interactive sessions. Mr. Jasser Al-Suwairi delivered a presentation on communication skills and academic conduct, highlighting the foundations of university success and the key skills students need throughout their academic journey.

Ms. Naima Al-Murabit, Faculty Registrar, provided an overview of academic regulations and registration procedures, while Ms. Nehal Al-Juwaili, Faculty Study and Examinations Coordinator, offered guidance and advice on study and examination procedures.

Ms. Huda Al-Awami, Faculty Quality Coordinator, introduced students to the role of quality assurance and the importance of student participation in improving the educational process. Ms. Raghad Al-Aribi, Education and Learning Coordinator, also provided an overview of teaching and learning practices and the student’s role in achieving a successful educational experience.

Mr. Ahmed Al-Faitouri led an interactive session on teamwork and team-building skills, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and communication among students throughout their university journey.

The day concluded with a tour of the university campus, allowing students to become familiar with the university’s facilities and services and helping them integrate into the university environment and develop a stronger sense of belonging.
