Dr. Madhi Lectures on Healthcare and Artificial Intelligence

The Research and Consultation Center organized a scientific lecture on Saturday, February 22, 2025, titled:

“Enhancing Patient Care Through Preparing AI Expertise in Libya: A Post-graduate Program on AI in Healthcare”

Presented by Dr. Ibtisam Madhi, Director of the Healthcare Bachelor’s Program, the lecture explored the various applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the healthcare field and their impact on enhancing the quality of medical services. Dr. Madhi also addressed the primary obstacles hindering the implementation of AI technologies within the Libyan health sector.

Key Highlights of the Lecture:

  • Capacity Building: Emphasizing the importance of qualifying human resources to effectively manage and apply advanced technologies in the local health sector.
  • Strategic Proposal: Introducing a proposal for a specialized postgraduate program designed to create a qualitative leap in this discipline.

The event was attended by several faculty and administrative members, led by the University President. In his intervention, the President stressed the necessity of aligning educational processes and scientific research with the rapid advancements in AI, noting that the Libyan International Medical University (LIMU) is making steady strides toward this objective.

It is noteworthy that Dr. Madhi previously presented this scientific paper at the “First International Conference and Exhibition for E-Health and Telemedicine,” which was held in Misrata earlier this February.
